Raymond Greeley passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the Imperial Manor in Imperial, Nebraska, at the age of 91. Raymond was born on January 12, 1933, in Hayes County, Nebraska, to Gordon and Ethel (Madison) Greeley.
Raymond lived a life richly interwoven with love for his family and dedication to his work in ranching and farming. A hardworking individual, Raymond found joy and purpose in the fields. His unwavering commitment to his craft not only reflected his strong work ethic but also highlighted the profound love he held for the land and animals he tended.
Raymond's zest for life extended beyond his career. He had a deep passion for riding horses. Throughout his life, he cherished the memories made while engaging in 4-H activities with his children during their formative years—these times remain treasured by his family. He also found immense joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, relishing every opportunity to create lasting memories. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends whenever he could.
In addition to his devotion to farming, Raymond served his country with honor during a short stint in the Navy. He later became a proud member of the Eagles Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Bernita; his children, Janet (Kevin) Schrotberger, Bill (Christine) Greeley, and Linda (Jim) Lutz; his 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward Greeley, a sister Shirley Clark, and a brother-in-law Bill Hampton.
