Richard Taylor
Richard George Taylor was born June 18, 1942, in rural Chase County, Nebraska, to Crandall and Ellen (Gross) Taylor. Richard grew up and attended school in Chase County, graduating from Chase County High School in 1960. He then joined the United States Navy and served from 1961 to 1966.
On November 25, 1968, Richard married Dorothy Lee Brown in Benkelman, Nebraska. They couple settled on a farm west of Wauneta, where Richard farmed and he and Dorothy lived until present.
Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing and he especially loved spoiling his grandchildren.
Richard passed away, Friday May 23rd, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was 71 years of age.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Crandall and Ellen (Gross) Taylor; brothers: Charlie Taylor, Gene Taylor, and Gary Taylor; sister: Marjorie Taylor Jackson and her husband Bob Jackson.
Survivors Include: Wife: Dorothy of Wauneta, NE. Sons: Rick Taylor and wife Kim of Wauneta, NE. Alan Taylor and wife Teresa of Venango, NE. 3 Grandchildren: Garrett and Colby Taylor, and Jessica Taylor. Brother-in-law: Tom and Margaret Brown of Atwood, KS. Sisters-in-law: Barbara Taylor of Modesto, CA. Delpha (Brown) Sis of Atwood, KS. Alvina (Brown) Gamblin of Oberlin, KS. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Richard Taylor will be held Friday morning, May 30th, 2014, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at the Church of the Brethren, Enders, NE. with Dallas Wine officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon, May 29th, 2014, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta, NE.
A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
