Robert D Cox was born July 6th , 1942 in Wauneta to Robert L. and June Cox. He passed away in Imperial, Nebraska on October 3rd, 2024. Robert grew up in Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1960.

Robert D. Cox married Maxine Harris on May 4th , 1963.

Robert and Maxine enjoyed doing many things together. Their hobbies included watching and attending sports events and activities of the grandkids and great grandkids. They enjoyed playing cards and marbles with friends and teaching the grandkids how to play when they were growing up.

Robert had several different careers over the years including Lonestar Ranch, Coop, Dept of NRD, Kearney Public Schools, and a lot of years and best known for welcoming us all into Kearney and Grand Island Walmart. Maxine was employed at Jack & Jill grocery as well as chase county high school in Imperial, and Kearney Orthopedic and Fracture Center

Maxine passed away in December 5, of 2021 preceding her in death were her parents Pleas and Ruby Harris, brother Jack Harris and sister-in-law Lea Harris.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 59 years.

Survivors include: Sons Dodd(Tonja)Cox of Grand Island, NE and Doug(Cindy)Cox of Treynor, IA; his brother, Ron (Janeen) Cox, sister, Bev(Ricky) Shunk; grandchildren, Courtney Cox (Ben Shafer), KyLea (Skyler) Wissing ,Jenny(Paul) Kemper, Jason(Randi) Cox and Justin Cox; great-grandchildren; Kyrni, Kielea, Bently, Bracyn, Boone, Huntley and Troian.

A graveside inurnment will be held on 11:30 A.M (MT)  on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial with Ret. Pastor Melody Newman officiating. The family request casual attire or wear your favorite Huskers gear. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Imperial Manor in memory of Bob and Maxine.
