Ronald Acton
Ronald Elsworth Acton was born November 21, 1924, at Agency, Iowa, to Harry L. and Katie E. (Widger) Acton. As a youngster, Ron, moved with his family in, 1935, to a farm north of Wauneta, Nebraska. He attended school in Wauneta, graduating from Wauneta High School in 1942.
Ron entered the U.S. Army on May 10, 1945, and served during WWII. He was discharged on October 19, 1946, and returned to Southwest Nebraska, where he began Ronac Express Trucking. Ron later started farming, which he loved, raising wheat, corn, beans and popcorn.
On June 9, 1951, he married Evelyn Elaine Hoff at Wauneta Methodist Church. The couple first settled in Wauneta, where they made their home for many years.
Ron enjoyed many hobbies including farming, family fishing trips to Lake McConaughy, reading, watching western movies, ski trips to Colorado, (skiing into his 80’s), Husker football, Denver Broncos Football, watching the spring colts each year and he especially loved visits from grandkids and great-grandkids. He had a great work ethic and a fondness for all animals, farm or pets.
Ron was a member of the Wauneta United Methodist Church and the Willard Hansen American Legion Post #304 of Wauneta.
Ron passed away Monday evening, September 30, 2019, at the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center. Ron was 94 years of age.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Evelyn in 1989, and friend later in life; Dorothy Dudek
Funeral services will be held Friday morning, October 4, 2019, 11:00 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Elias Mukindia officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon, October 3, 2019, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta.
A memorial has been suggested to the Wauneta Senior Center
