Scott Robert Walgren was born on August 6, 1954, in Coronado, California to Robert and Sharon (Voorhees) Walgren. Scott passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, in Imperial, Nebraska.

After Scott was born, the family moved to Wauneta, Nebraska. Scott graduated from Wauneta High School in 1972, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication. Growing up, Scott was a member of the Methodist Church of Wauneta. He actively participated in community events especially the annual Harvest Fest celebration. He was a proud to be the Grand Marshall for the 2019 Harvest Fest parade. Scott knew Karen for several years after meeting her while she worked at the grocery store. They later fell in love and married in McCook, NE on December 3, 2016.

Scott dedicated an impressive 47 years of his life to the butcher, proudly owning and operating the Walgren Grocery Store. His commitment to his craft was evident in his meticulous attention to detail and personal touch, qualities that made him a trusted figure in the community. Throughout his career, Scott earned a reputation as not only a skilled butcher but also as an honest and reliable friend to all who knew him. He was particularly known for his unwavering dedication to helping others, establishing himself as a best friend to many through his selfless acts of kindness.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Scott had a wealth of hobbies and interests that showcased his vibrant personality. He loved fishing and was an avid bow hunter, often spending his weekends out in the elements pursuing deer, pheasants, and quail. Gardening was another of his passions, with Scott notably growing the largest cantaloupe many had ever seen. His zest for life and the outdoors was infectious, impacting all who had the pleasure of sharing these moments with him.

Scott's strong character and no-nonsense attitude defined him. He was someone who did not tolerate disrespect and stood firm in his beliefs. Those who were fortunate enough to know him will remember him not only for his exemplary work ethic but also for his remarkable strength and integrity.
