SHARON L. CHARTIER
Sharon Lee Chartier was born September 6, 1941, at Syracuse, New York, to Raymond T. and Vivian E. (Niver) Egan. As a young person she grew up and attended school in New York. Sharon had a fascination for horses and joined a traveling circus to become a horse riding performer. During her career she traveled the country performing and training horses with several groups including the White Horse Troup and the Arena Kachinas.
Sharon met Dallas D. Chartier at a rodeo and the couple were married at Weatherford, Texas, in May of 1963. They made Benkelman, Nebraska, their home for many years.
Sharon was employed by Four Circle Coop, owned and operated the Western Keg with Dallas, and retired from Benkelman State Bank as a teller. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Benkelman, the Red Hat Ladies Society, and was very well known for her piano playing in many of the churches in town. Sharon enjoyed knitting, riding and caring for horses, playing golf, and especially spending time and visiting with family and friends.
Sharon passed away at her home in Benkelman on Monday, August 17, 2020. She was 78 years of age.

Husband: Dallas of Benkelman, NE
Son: Shane Chartier (Helen Evans) of Meno, OK
Grandsons: Allen and Skylor Rains of Meno, OK
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation with no services were Sharon’s wishes.
A memorial has been suggested to the Chartier family for a future designation.
