Shirley June Clark was born to Gordon Clyde and Ethel Gertrude (Madison) Greeley on June 28th, 1930 in Hayes County, Nebraska. She attended school and graduated from, Chase County High School in 1948. Shirley was united in marriage to Glen Warren Clark on November 15th, 1947 in Kansas.
Shirley and Glen lived north of Imperial, NE while Glen worked for Bud Stenger. The couple later moved to Imperial and lived at 303 Court Street until Shirley’s mother passed away and they moved into her house at 340 East 12th Street in 1991. Shirley would later move to Steamboat Springs, CO and remain there until her passing.
Shirley worked at Hurd’s Steak House and eventually purchased the business, operating it as Shirley’s Steak House. She also worked at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home from 1968 until her retirement. Shirley loved to fish and had a few good fish tales. She would spend many hours gardening, canning and cooking for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Shirley passed away Tuesday, January 27th, 2015, at the Doak Walker Nursing Home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She was 84 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Norman Clark; brother, Edward Greeley; son-in-law, Gordon Weiss and granddaughter, Stacy Clark.
Survivors include: son, LaRoy Clark and fiancé, Terri Newman; daughter, JoAnn Weiss; daughter-in-law, Debra Clark; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brenda (Blane) Lancaster and son, Kyle; Amy (Leighton) Wyscaver and sons, Tucker and Jack; Tony (Tanya) Weiss and daughters, Courtnee and Shelbee; Tanya (Keith) Warning and daughters, Amanda and Lacey; Tasha (TJ) Weiss and daughters, Kali and Kiera; Lael (James) Biesecker and daughter, Kirsten and son, Kenyan; Lane (Megan) Clark and son, Cody and stepdaughters, Taylor and Paige; brother, Raymond (Bernita) Greeley; sister-in-law, Marge Rowley; and many nieces nephews and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday morning, January 31st, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE with Tony Weiss officiating.
Visitation was held Friday afternoon, January 30th, 2015, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 PM., at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Shirley’s memory.
