Steven Charles Harper, 39, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Sept. 4, 2013, at his home. He was born on July 29, 1974 in Grant, Neb.
He attended Imperial Grade School and graduated from Chase County High School in 1993.
After graduation, Steven furthered his education by attending Bellevue University in Grand Island, Neb. He then worked for Alltel/Verizon, then AT&T for a total of 17 years.
Steven was known for his love for family, friends and his dogs. He had a contagious laugh and knew when a good joke was needed.
Steven is survived by his mother, SuzAnn Harmon and stepfather, Lester Harmon, both of Imperial, Neb.; brother, Shane Harper of Kearney, Neb.; uncle, Terry Bilka of Enders, Neb.; aunt, Nancy Harper of Washington State; cousins, Jaime and wife, Lisa Harper, of Washington State, Rachel and husband, John Takagi, of Washington State, Charlesa and husband, JR Kline, of Imperial, Neb., and Joseph and wife, Lyndsey Bilka, of Holdrege, Neb.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Harper; maternal grandparents, Laddie and Charlotte Bilka; paternal grandparents, James and Dora Harper; and uncle, Edwin Harper.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial, Neb.
Memorial Services will be Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial, Neb. with Father Bernard Lorenz officiating.
Inurnment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Imper¬ial, Neb. The family has asked for memorials to be sent to the ALS Association.
Liewer Funeral Home of Imperial is in charge of the arrangements.
