Sue Marie Jackson was born June 28, 1921 to Andrew and Fern (Blakely) Leach on their farm near Yuma, Colorado. She graduated from high school in Imperial, Nebraska. After attending Kearney State Teachers’ College and receiving a Bachelor of the Arts degree at the University of Wyoming, she taught school for seven years in Nebraska and twenty-three years in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Sue was a member of the Laramie County Retired Teachers’ for a number of years. She enjoyed playing golf and belonged to the Airport Golf Course for seventeen years.
Sue Jackson passed away Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018 at the Wauneta Care & Therapy Center. She was 96 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Charles Leach, Leland Leach and Byron Leach, three sisters: Mable Bernard, Vernace Groff and Maxine Matson.
Sue is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
No viewing; cremation was chosen.
A memorial has been established to the Cheyenne Sheriff’s Posse, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
