Tanner Robert Allen

December 13, 1995 — September 23, 2016

Tanner Robert Allen Harris, age 20, left this life too soon on Friday, September 23rd.

Tanner was born on December 13, 1995 in Hastings, Nebraska to Jennifer Allen.
Tanner & Jennifer lived in Hastings for 2 years, moving to North Platte and a year later to Imperial. Tanner was a happy little boy and when sister Jade came along – he relished the role of big brother. He talked to her like she was his best friend, even before she was born, asking her “what are you doing today” through Mom’s tummy. On June 1, 2001, Jennifer married Jim Harris. Tanner immediately fell in love with his new dad and the added siblings Jim brought into the family. Family was always so important to Tanner.

Tanner graduated from Chase County High School in 2014. Throughout high school he worked at Super Foods, Imperial City Pool and Pivot Electric. His Junior year, he made one of the proudest decisions of his life and joined the Army National Guard. Pvt. Tanner Allen, completed Basic Training at the 198th Infantry Brigade in Fort Benning, Georgia on August 8, 2013. Tanner was proud to serve State & Country. Tanner went on to work at Overhead Doors following graduation. He then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska with good friends, where he worked at Lawnco and Electrical Enterprises. Tanner knew he wanted to follow in his Uncle’s footsteps and be an electrician. Recently, Tanner had made the move to Amherst, CO where he worked at various jobs.
Tanner loved fishing with his buddies, playing video games, writing, listening to, singing and playing music and just hanging out with friends. His friends were his family. Anyone who was Tanner’s friend was never just a friend but a brother or a sister. He loved fiercely and passionately about those closest to him.

He also loved Jesus. Tanner accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was very young. Grandma Janice and Uncle Chad were big spiritual influences in Tanner’s life. Tanner didn’t always walk God’s path but he knew who he belonged to, and we know that he is now with Grandma Janice, rejoicing at his Heavenly Father’s throne, no worries, no heartache, no more pain just pure JOY.

Tanner was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Allen.
