Thomas M Anderson

July 17, 1969 — December 15, 2022

Thomas Mathew Anderson

Ton Anderson, the son of Clarence (Andy) and Janice Anderson was born In Imperial, NE. Tom joined us on July 17th, in “the summer of 69” and left us on December 15, 2022, at his home in Madrid, NE, at the age of 53.

Tom attended Imperial Elementary School and graduated from Chase County High School in 1988.

Tom joined the US Army Signal Corps in 1991. He served in Okinawa Japan, San Diego, CA, and Ft. Irwin, CA. He was very proud of his service to our Country, as so many of his brothers and father before him. Tom carried that courage and respect over to his daily life serving his community, also especially the American Legion, and Fire Department of Madrid, NE, where he settled in 2012, while building on his dream of owning his own lumber yard and honoring his family’s name. Hanging that name “Anderson Lumber” over the entry of the door that would lead to Tom’s dream of following his father’s footsteps.

Tom leaned into his hugs, and you could tell that every ounce of his giant soul was good-hearted and genuine. His vision was wider than most of our windows allow us to let in. He tried as best as he could to frame his life and love of his business, his beliefs, while staying humble and proud. I’m sure he’s laughing with his brother Billy and Brian buy now and Mom and Dad smiling…. making room for him at the table.

Tom is survived by Mike (Julie) Anderson od Cheyenne, WY, David Anderson of Brighton, CO, Carol Harchelroad of North Platte, NE, Cindy (Doug) Styskal of Longmont, CO. Scott Anderson of Colorado, Phyllis (Scott) Parker of Waterloo, NE, Bryce (Angel) Anderson of Cleveland, OK, Eric (Ronny) Anderson of Keaau, HI, Melissa (Adam) Hawthorne of Oklahoma City, OK., and many nephews and nieces.

In Lieu of Flowers, a memorial will be donated to the American Legion, Hilton-Flaming Post 271, of Madrid, NE.

A private family funeral service with full military honors will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. on Friday, July 14, 2023, followed by a public Celebration of Tom’s Life at the Madrid City Hall, 12:00-2:00 P.M. (MT)
