VAN NESBITT
Evangeline Francis (Van) Nesbitt was born June 25, 1928, at Fullerton, Nebraska, to Steve and Francis (Uzendoski) Hebda. As a youngster she attended rural grade school and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1946. Van was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator and bookkeeper for several years before marring Lowell E. Nesbitt on June 13, 1953, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Fullerton.
Van and Lowell settled in Fullerton for a short time where Van continued to work at the telephone company, before following Lowell’s career with KN Energy. The couple along with their growing family lived in several different communities including O’Neil, St. Paul, Albion, and Hastings. In 1968 they made their home in Imperial, Nebraska.
In Imperial, Van was employed by the Jack and Jill Grocery and the Imperial Auction Market as a bookkeeper before retirement. She was a very active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, teaching CCD, participating in the choir and St. Pats Alter Society. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling, sewing, baking, and crafts of all kinds. Van especially loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Van passed away Monday morning, March 1, 2010, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home, Imperial. She was 81 years of age.

7 Grandchildren: Jeremy Nesbitt and wife, Carrie, Alicia Nesbitt, Zach Nesbitt and wife, Jessica, Aaron Sargent, Shelby Nesbitt, Richard and Lyssa Beard
6 Great-Grandchildren: Allison, Kendra, Reagan, Daniel, Aleah, and Alexi Nesbitt
Brothers: Clarence Hebda and wife, Mary Ann, of Lincoln, NE Raymond Hebda and wife, Betty, of Silver Creek, NE
A Rosary was recited Friday evening, March 5, 2010, 7:00 P.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Imperial, NE.
The Funeral Mass was held Saturday morning, March 6, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Imperial, NE, with Father Bernard Lorenz celebrating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE
A memorial has been established to the New St. Patrick’s Parish Hall Fund
