VERNA LEMON
Verna "Vee" Lemon, patriot, smart-aleck, wise-cracking loving mother, and devoted wife, died on Monday, October 13, 2013, at the University of Colorado Medical Center, in Denver. CO. She was 51 years of age. Verna's sense of humor and temper made her a force to be reckoned with. She spent her childhood in North Platte, creating havoc for her Mother, Rose Wilson, and teaching her sister, Julie Sanders, and brother Ernest Andersen, just how much fun you could have with an old VW beetle and a Frosty from Wendy's. She graduated from St. Pat's in 1981 and from Mid-Plains Community College in 1995.
It was in college where Verna would find her knight in shining armor, John G. Lemon, whom she married in 1996. She loved John and shared his passion of the land which they would farm in rural Max, Ne. In 2000, twin boys, Wyatt and Conor, were born. Two years later, a daughter, Faith, would complete their family.
Besides farming, gardening and canning became a family tradition, the fruit from which she shared with everyone she knew. A true patriot, Verna supported the Armed Forces with as much passion as any one wife, and sister could possibly envision. Verna knew no boundaries when it came to taking care of her extended family. "Momma Vee" poured her heart and soul into her family, the Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts, school and athletic activities, and the youth from the Methodist church.
