Vinton Kimberling
Vinton Angelo Kimberling was born May 30, 1935, to Charley C. and Mary Jane (Hill) Kimberling at the Kimberling homestead farm in Champion, Nebraska. He was named after his grandfathers Vinton Kimberling and Angelo Hill. Vinton’s siblings include Vinta Claney, deceased; Vera Gleason of Beaver City, Nebraska; and Jim Kimberling of Colorado. Vinton was a farmer and rancher for most of his life. He was thrust into agriculture at an early age because of the death of his father. Vinton and Fauniel lived and worked on the family farm west of Champion for many years. Later in life he was employed by the Frenchman Valley Coop driving a feed truck. In 2009, the couple made their home in Imperial. Vinton was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. He loved hunting and fishing, but his true love was woodworking. He made numerous furniture items for his children and grandchildren. Vinton and Fauniel also enjoyed vacationing in Estes Park, Colorado.
