Wayne Weiss
Wayne H. Weiss, oldest son of Harvey and Lucille Weiss was born January 18, 1941 in Imperial, Nebraska.
Wayne attended school in Enders, Nebraska and entered into the Army at the age of 19. He was stationed in West Germany for 31 months and patrolled the border between East and West Germany. He was an expert rifle, pistol and sharpshooter. At the time of his discharge he was an E-5 Buck Sergeant.
Wayne was united in marriage to Bonnie Hallett on December 26, 1972. Three girls were brought into this marriage: Lisa, Kathy and DeAnn. Wayne adopted the three girls and called them his own; raising them with great pride.
Wayne was a hard worker and took great pride in all he did throughout his life. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.
Wayne passed away Monday evening, November 24th, 2014 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial, Ne. He was 73 years of age.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Weiss; sister, Anna May; brother, Gordon Weiss; nephews: Russel and Timmy Harmon.
Survivors include: Mother, Lucille Weiss of Champion, NE Wife, Bonnie Weiss of Champion, NE Daughters: DeAnn Doetker and husband, Jed; Kathy Brown; Lisa Weiss and Kathleen Weiss Grandchildren: Jordyn and Caid Doetker; Thomas and Bonnie Cravey; John and Amanda Matson 1 Great-granddaughter Sisters: Frances Berggren and Connie Gardner Sisters-in-law: Charlotte Scarrow and husband, Lloyd and Francis Olson and husband, Harold Brother-in-law: George Hallett and wife, Cindi Many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. (MT), Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at Lakeview Cemetery in rural Champion, Nebraska with full military honors.
No visitation; cremation was chosen.
A Memorial has been established in Wayne’s Memory.
