Wesley Donohue
Wesley Michael Donohue was born March 22, 1926 to Harry and Alice (Ivie) Donohue in Cheyenne County, Kansas.
Wes attended school in Bird City, Kansas. He was inducted into the United States Navy on February 10, 1945 and was Honorably Discharged on August 15, 1946. Shortly after his separation from the military, he married Wilma Jean Martin on April 17, 1949 in Benkelman, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Dundy County, Nebraska and later in Cheyenne County, Kansas. Wesley was a farmer, rancher and truck driver. He farmed with horses up until the early 1990’s.
He enjoyed driving and working with his draft horses. He also loved reading, playing cards with his neighbors on Big Timber Creek, playing with children and meal times.
Wes passed away Wednesday morning, June 12th, at the Yuma Life Care Center in Yuma, Colorado. He was 87 years of age.
Wesley is preceded in death by his parents; wife Wilma Jean; an infant daughter Patricia “Patty” Jean Donohue; and a brother Lester Donohue.

Graveside Services will be held Monday afternoon, June 17, 2013, 2:00 P.M. (MT) at the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE with Dr. Daniel Marshall officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2013, 1:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) and Monday morning, June 17, 2013, 10:00 A.M. (MT) until service time at Forch Funeral Chapel, Benkelman, NE
A memorial has been established in Wes’s memory.
